How it works?

We provide a simple platform to people to list their unused musical instruments that are collecting dust for others to use.

Steps:

  • Register your account as a Sharer

  • List your musical instrument

  • Seeker searches for what they want

  • Sharer waits for seekers to book the musical instrument

  • Sharer gets their commission after successful payment

  • Seeker connects to organise in-person sharing

  • Meetup to share instrument with seeker

  • Seeker returns the product after the rental period is over

  • Seeker receives the security deposit back

How much does it cost?

Listing musical instruments is free. InstruShare gets paid only when you do. When your listed musical instruments get rented out, we add a 10% admin fee to your weekly hire prices.

For example, if you charge $40 to rent out your guitar, $4 would be the admin fee. A small payment gateway fee will be levied on the rental.

Are you a music teacher looking for a variety of instruments?

Cost effective solution

We understand that music teachers would need multiple instruments. Hence, we offer multiple categories. Teachers could also rent out to the general public to earn extra $$$ for their music department.

Frequently Asked Questions

This will be highly unlikely given the amount of personal information the Seeker needs to provide to InstruShare and their phone number to the Sharer. The Sharer also sets the security deposit which will not be refunded to the Seeker if they do not return the item. In the unlikely case the item is not returned on time as agreed, try calling the other party. If you are unsuccessful, file a dispute and we'll contact them. The security deposit is a safety net before escalating matters further.
Not at all. We understand your privacy and safety concerns. However, you should choose a location that is within the suburb, easily accessible, not too exposed to the elements, and comfortable for you to wait as the Seeker may be running late.
Please note: these days it’s easy to make a product, or anything, look more appealing with the use of filters and clever photography techniques. These are second-hand items and may have general wear and tear. You may file a dispute on the InstruShare platform and provide images as evidence for your claim. Admin will compare your images with the advertised images. We may contact you to clarify your grievance. Admin may then contact the provider for more information, notify them of the dispute and likelihood of a refund. If the item is deemed unusable, the Seeker receives a refund, and the item must be returned. Each party can reflect their experience by reviewing the other party.
Please allow them plenty of time to return home or return the item. They could be stuck in traffic. Attempt to call them and sort it out. If the Seeker is more than 24hrs late, file a dispute in InstruShare and admin will attempt to contact them. Late fees may apply.
Buying and selling is much easier. When it’s paid for, it doesn’t need to come back. We facilitate peer-to-peer hiring. We don’t know the Sharers or Seekers personally, so we need a system that provides some security and piece of mind. Some companies even do background checks and credit checks. The photo ID image is one of the best ways we can deter theft and damage. If you have a better idea, we are open to suggestions.
Please allow them plenty of time to reply. You may file a dispute on the InstruShare platform. We may contact you and the Sharer to clarify your grievance. If you still don’t have the item in 24hrs, we will issue a refund.
Simply hire the item from the end of your first hire period until you’re finished and let the Sharer know. There is no guarantee it will be available before booking.
This will be highly unlikely given the amount of personal information the Sharer needs to provide to InstruShare and their phone number to the Seeker. If it is found to be stolen, law enforcement can deal with that as InstruShare is not liable.
When using reads and mouth pieces it is advisable to have your own. Otherwise, please disinfect the mouthpiece before and after use. Remember: chemicals create reactions on different materials. If in doubt, ask the Sharer or manufacturer. You are liable for the condition of the item while it’s in your possession.
After logging in, click the Share button and follow the prompts.
this is completely up to you. Keep in mind if the price is too high, it may deter some Seekers. If it is too low, it might not be worth it for you.
You may file a dispute on the InstruShare platform and provide images as evidence for your claim. Admin will compare your images with the advertised images, and images provided by the Seeker. We may contact you to clarify your grievance and contact the Seeker for more information, notify them of the dispute and the possible loss or part loss of their security deposit to pay for damages. If the item is deemed unusable, the insurer will get involved. Each party can reflect their experience by reviewing the other party.
No, listing your gear is completely free! InstruShare only gets paid when you do. When the Seeker pays for the reservation, we add a 10% admin fee to your weekly hire price. For example, if you charge $50 per week to rent out your guitar, we’ll add $5 from the rental. Again, we only make money when you make money. There's currently an unavoidable, but small, PayPal fee of 2.6%+30c which gets subtracted from your hire fee.
